There is nothing special, sacred, or 'official' about a class ring.

The dirty little secret is that you can design your own ring. 

1) Pick the metal you want from stainless steel, to silver or gold or almost any exotic metal.
    Then pick the finish to be shiny, antique, or satin.

2) Pick the insignia of the school you would like, as well as the icons for your activities.

3) Pick the stone you would like.  Pick its color and whether you want glass, semi-precious, or precious stones.

4) Finally, pick your engraving. That's it.  You have your own ring.
